2023 Updates
Class of 2006
Lisa (Baldwin) Edgar '06 was part of CDS's first graduating class. She and her husband Adam live just outside of Philadelphia with their four children Eleanor (8), Luke (5), Caleb (3), and Jack (1). Lisa teaches Geometry and Trigonometry at the homeschool hybrid program her children attend two days a week, and she teaches her kids at home the other three days.
Katherine (Donahoe) Kropp '06 currently lives in Mississippi where her husband is stationed as an active duty Air Force psychologist on Columbus Air Force Base. They welcomed Karis Marie on June 3, 2022. Karis joined big brother David (4) and sister Nancy (2).

Heather (Leonall) Melcher '08 and her husband welcomed a baby girl, Miriam Ann Melcher, on July 6, 2022.
Class of 2009
Charles (Chad) Hite '09 visited CDS to speak to the high schoolers during CARE week, focusing on mental health issues. Charles has a podcast called The Rabbit Hole Show, where he shares his story to encourage people that they are not alone and that there is hope in facing mental health issues.

Ben McDermott '10 was awarded Rookie of the Year for the Charlotte area by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry for his work in Residential Territory Sales for Best Tile.
Kayla (Osterhus) Cherry '10 and her husband Brad had their second daughter, Ellie, on July 26, 2023! They also have an older daughter, Ainsley (2.5).
Sarah (Leonall) Palacio '10 and her husband welcomed a baby boy, David, on September 14, 2022.
Class of 2011
Leah (Villereal) Rothrock '11 attended CDS from 5th grade to her graduation in 2011. She attended High Point University and got her Bachelors in Education and Masters in STEM Education. She taught middle school robotics in Union County Public Schools for three years and then worked in high school career development for three years. Leah returned to CDS to teach middle school CREATE and coach junior varsity volleyball. The Lord opened a door for her at CDS when she wasn’t even looking. She sought a strong Christian community at work and was blessed to find that at CDS. Working alongside her former teachers and coaches has been a blessing as they had a large impact on her decision to pursue education. She is particularly grateful to work alongside Varsity Volleyball Coach Heather Mills, who taught her everything as a player and continues to teach her as a coach.

Lauren Anderson '13 married Richard Gibbs on April 22, 2023, at Overlook Barn in Banner Elk, NC. They will continue to live in Banner Elk.
Carol Ann (Roberts) Ferguson ‘13 and her husband, Teron Ferguson, welcomed their beautiful daughter in June. Carol Ann and her class celebrated their ten year reunion this fall.
Lindsay (Riggins) Fowler '13 met her husband Richard through their church in Atlanta, Georgia. They were married in June in Atlanta where they currently live.
Caroline Peklenk '13 got engaged to Tyler Rose on Christmas Eve 2022. They were married on April 15th, 2023.
Claire Weigel ‘13 recently married Mac Juraschek. The couple chose a unique place to celebrate their wedding. Claire shares “Vail is such a special place to my family. We’ve been going for years and last year Mac went for the first time! We found my engagement ring there and thought, no better place to have our wedding! What could be a more magical week than snow, skiing, and a wedding!”

Rebekah Lee '14 and Mark were married in Phoenix, Arizona, on November 19, 2022.
Matthew McKnight '14 returned to campus for the H. Brent McKnight Justice and Mercy Oratory Contest to serve as a judge and present the award to the winner, Ally Macurda. Matthew is the son of the late Justice McKnight. He is the Dehoff/Arnold Endowed Scholar at Duke Law School where he is president of the Federalist Society, student editor for the Bolch Judicial Institute, and a member of the Mock Trial Board. Before law school, he worked as a special assistant to United States Senator Ben Sasse, earned a graduate degree in theology from the University of Oxford, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from UNC.
Parker Toney ‘14 left the software industry to enter full-time ministry. He is now the partnerships director for North and South Carolina for a Christian international nonprofit, Water Mission, which seeks to end the global water crisis that currently leaves over two billion people without access to safe water.

Abigail (Wallace) Cerrato '15 and her husband Devin welcomed a new baby, Beckett Gray Cerrato, on August 29, 2023. Beckett is pictured with sisters Avery (4 yrs) and Delaney (2 yrs).
A former CDS cheerleader, Abigail recently returned to CDS to coach middle school cheerleading with her sister, Natalie Wallace ‘19, another CDS alumna and former cheerleader.
Leah Wright '15 married Cameron Kane on April 1st, 2023, in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Class of 2016
Alumna Bess Blackburn '16 attended Liberty University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Historical Documentary Filmmaking, a Bachelor of Arts in Classical Studies, a minor in Koine Greek, and a Master of Arts in History. She is currently attending Liberty University School of Law and serving as editor-in-chief of the university’s Journal of Statesmanship & Public Policy, part-time research assistant to the Office of the Dean, and part-time as a legal intern with Advancing American Freedom. Earlier this year, Bess co-authored and presented a paper on natural law theory at a public policy conference hosted by Liberty University’s Helms School of Government and the Journal of Statesmanship & Public Policy. Over the summer, she worked as a law clerk with the United States Senate where she attended hearings, researched, and wrote legal memoranda on current issues in the Senate Judiciary Committee and as a law clerk with the United States Commission on Civil Rights, where she researched for an upcoming report to be presented to Congress and the President of the United States regarding national civil rights issues.
Abby (Olive) Cotton '16 joined Covenant Day in 2012 as a freshman. After graduating in 2016, she attended Samford University, majored in English, and served in Young Life. She then went on to get her Masters in English at UNCC. She has returned to CDS to teach 10th grade American literature, coach middle school volleyball, and coach high school track and field. While in graduate school, Abby heard that a job was opening up in American literature at CDS, and she knew that she wanted her first year of teaching to be somewhere that would mentor her well in the profession as well as give her opportunities to invest in the spiritual lives of students. Being an alumna has given her insight into some of the unique aspects of CDS and has helped her better know how to mentor her students. It is a high calling and great privilege to cultivate students from the other side of the classroom, and she hopes and prays that by having been at CDS before, she has insight and wisdom that will help her students as they grow and learn.
Pearce Burrows '16 and Julia were married on December 2, 2022, in Greenville, South Carolina. They now live and work in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Beth (Peck) Crooke married Baron on September 3, 2022. The couple moved to Iowa, where Beth works as a supply chain integration specialist at John Deere.
Class of 2017
Congratulations to Macy Henry ’17 on her engagement to Drew Masters. The couple met at Clemson and started dating their sophomore year. The couple got married March 18, 2023, at Quail Hollow in Charlotte, North Carolina. Macy is finishing nursing school at Emory University. Macy and Drew will continue to live in Atlanta.
Connor Mosack '17 and Daryn Lundberg Mosack '17 were married October 15, 2022, at Lake Norman. They met in middle school at Covenant Day and started dating their senior year. They will continue to reside in Charlotte.
Connor is a race car driver and made his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut with Joe Gibbs Racing in the inaugural series race at Portland (Ore.) International Raceway. @openeyesministry, a global ministry he volunteered with in Africa during the summer of 2017, sponsored his car.
Julius Klohr graduated as a “lifer” in 2017 after attending CDS since kindergarten. After graduation, he attended Houghton University and earned his Bachelors in Intercultural Studies with a minor in Sports Ministry. Additionally, Julius played four and a half years of collegiate soccer at Houghton, earning multiple playing awards and serving as captain for three years. He then earned his Masters in Business Administration while serving as an assistant coach for the Houghton men’s soccer team. In the past year, he moved back to Charlotte, got married, started a full-time job with the Charlotte Eagles, and returned to coach varsity boys soccer and oversee the CDS boys soccer program.Coaching soccer and being involved in sports ministry is part of his calling, and he couldn’t have been more excited to return to two organizations that played a vital role in shaping who he is today. His favorite part of his role at CDS is being able to lead, mentor, and serve the team he coaches within a Christian environment. He views soccer as a tool to help develop young men and women on and off the field. Julius has seen how the Lord uses soccer to bring His people closer to Him, and he has a unique opportunity to be a part of the Lord’s work in the players’ lives.
At the 2023 CDS Clay Shoot, Rachel (Peterson) Rodgers '17 spoke honoring the life of Andy Simonds, an Edifice employee who helped build our high school and was passionate about Restoration and Sustainability. During her time at CDS, Rachel had the opportunity to join Andy on several trips to South Dakota where they delivered shipping containers to serve as emergency housing to Pine Ridge residents. She shared, "Andy's joy and enthusiasm was contagious. He truly empowers students and everyone around them to be the best person they could be. He was more than a mentor; he was a friend."
After graduating from Covenant Day in 2017, Rachel earned a Bachelor of Science in Outdoor Education and Environmental Science from Montreat College. She married Stuart Rodgers on May 15, 2022, in Waxhaw, North Carolina. They now live in Monroe, North Carolina, where Rachel works at Carolina Waterfowl Rescue as a wildlife rehabber and Stuart works as a systems engineer for Union County Public School. They love playing with their dog, Lady, and finding cool coffee shops.

Cameron Collins '18 and Bekah (Summa) Collins got married in the summer.
Ryan Allen '18 recently graduated from Parker University in Dallas, Texas, from the Doctor of Chiropractic Program.
Class of 2019
Natalie Wallace ‘19 was a cheerleader during her time at CDS. She recently returned to the school to coach middle school cheerleading alongside her sister, Abigail (Wallace) Cerrato ‘15.
Class of 2020
Elizabeth Ertel '20 shared, "Covenant Day School has had and continues to impact my life. I recently joined the CDS Restoration and Sustainability team
on a trip to Belize to work with the Pathways program. It meant so much to be a part of the discipleship and faith journey of the young people of Camalote. CDS continues to invest in me, and that’s why I’m ALL IN!"
David Billiard ‘20 achieved multiple records this year! He is the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) champion in shot put and discus, All-Region (South) in both, finished 19th in D3 National Championship in Rochester, New York, in shot put, and owns the Berry College and SAA conference records in both shot put and discus. He also achieved Academic All American First Team SAA All Conference in shot put and discus.
Campbell Myers '20 announced her engagement to former CDS student Caleb Beckstein in May.
Lilly McKissick '20 and Ben Walton '20 announced their engagement in May.
Joshua Lee '20 is a junior at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He recently became an intern at his local church in Wilmington, Christ Community Church.
Currently a business major concentrating in marketing, Johnny Pu '20 recently joined a co-ed a cappella group called Chordination at NC State. He says, "I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and it has been a great continuation from Covenant Day when Mr. Nelson was the music director!"
Class of 2021
Timmy Cotton '21 and the University of Lynchburg baseball team won the NCAA DIII National Championship for the first time in program history.
Class of 2022
Sedona Dancu '22 was the leading goal scorer for the Virginia Military Institute's women’s soccer team as a redshirt freshman, 6th in the SoCon conference! She's also on the track and field team.
Class of 2023
Josie Mae Gruendel '23 is playing Division I field hockey at William and Mary as a starting forward and mid-fielder.
Taylor Wielechowski '23 is studying speech pathology at The College of New Jersey, and she is a starter on their nationally ranked TCNJ Lions Field Hockey team (once a Lion, always a Lion!). She played a pivotal defensive role in the TCNJ backline, recording a pair of defensive saves and helping lead three shutouts. She was named to the All-Conference First Team and awarded Rookie of the Year for the NJAC conference. Taylor is a force to be reckoned with as a Lion’s center back, and she is loving every minute of it!

Christine Kindberg recently got engaged to Stephen Sloat, the couple will get married in June. Christine is a Spanish- Language Editor at Tyndale House Publishers.

Whitney (Tapp) Jordan and her husband, Kyle, welcomed a daughter, Marlie Layne Jordan on November 9, 2021. The family of four resides in Savannah, GA.
Class of 2009
Arielle (deBrun) Crain and her husband bought their first home and moved to Newnan, GA in September 2021.
Michaelanne (Clardy) and DJ Petrovski had their first child, David Hamilton Petrovski on September 15, 2021.
Laura Gennings got engaged to Mark Daniel Siljander on December 26, 2021, and will be married on April 23, 2022, in Fort Mill, SC. They will continue living in Charlotte, NC once married.

Megan MacPherson and her husband joyfully welcomed Christian Andrew MacPherson “Cam” into the MacPherson family.
Katie (Core) Reid and her husband Daniel welcomed their first baby on January 6, 2022! She is an adorable baby girl, Ruth Ivy Reid!
Trey Bullard and his wife Maria had their first baby, Anna James in October 2021.
Hayes Wilkerson got married to Caroline Lewis on September 19, 2021, in Raleigh, NC. They live in Charlotte, NC.
Kelly (Brace) & Tyler Andrews had their first child, a baby boy named Jones Easton Andrews, born on January 23, 2022. They will call him Easton.

Brad Roberts married Kimberly Allerton on January 8, 2022, in Rome, GA. The couple now lives in Asheville, NC.

Career Advancement: Ryan Osbourn signed with Fast Lane Talent Agency in Charlotte, NC for screen acting.
Rebekah Rosser and Caleb Porter got married on December 4, 2021, in Charleston, SC! The wedding party consisted of several CDS alums (Scott Jenkins officiated the wedding). Rebekah and Caleb currently live and work in Charlotte, NC. Rebekah is working for US Bank for their AML program while also finishing up her master’s in criminology, which will conclude in Spring 2022. Caleb is working at LPL Financial in their service, trading, and operations department serving independent advisors.
Mary Chayse (Bullard) Haithcock and her husband welcomed their first baby on February 6, 2022. Her name is Collins Elizabeth Haithcock.
Class of 2013
McClain Cauthen released a 5-Song EP called Buffalo Valley and What I've Seen. It drives home the idea that we are all worthy to be seen, known, and loved. Even more important news, he is getting married to McKay Conner in June of 2022! McClain and McKay met at church in Nashville.
Amanda (Myers) Hartley graduated Georgia College and State University M.A.T Secondary Education Political Science (GPA 4.0). She is currently serving metro Atlanta districts Title I students and pursuing an Ed.D in Educational Leadership. She was married in August 2020.
Lindsay Riggins is engaged to Richard Fowler of Savannah, GA. Lindsay and Richard met at their church in Atlanta and plan to stay there after their June 2022 wedding. Richard works in campus ministry with Georgia Tech, and Lindsay is a sales executive with a software company.
Peter Saunders married Jelissia on May 30, 2021, in Mt. Pleasant, NC. They have spent the past year in Charleston, SC, but recently moved back to Charlotte, NC.
Claire Weigel is engaged to Mac Juraschek, they plan to marry in Vail, CO in March 2022. They currently live in Charlotte, NC. Claire is the manager of Poole Shop, and was recently featured on the cover of SouthPark magazine for 2021 IT List.

Noah Batson married Rachel on October 16, 2021, on Wrightsville Beach, NC. They plan to continue living in Wilmington forever!
Matthew Cotton recently got engaged to Aryn Greene in Rosemary Beach, FL. Aryn and Matthew met in Atlanta while Matthew was in town visiting his fellow CDS classmates Spencer Hutchinson and Courtney Faulkner. Fast forward almost two years and he now lives and works in Atlanta, GA, and is planning to get married in October of 2022.
Spencer Hutchinson got engaged to Emily Elston, at the Four Seasons in Atlanta, GA on New Year’s Eve 2021.
Madison Hargette married John Shreve after meeting at Auburn. Madison recently graduated from grad school at the University of Alabama in Birmingham as a Doctor of Physical Therapy. The Shreve’s now live in Atlanta, GA.
Parker Toney married Lydia on October 15, 2021, in Winston Salem, NC. The couple lives in Charleston, SC. Parker works as a Cybersecurity Account Executive for OpenText Inc.
Courtney Faulkner got engaged to Lawson Walker on August 5, 2021. She met him through mutual friends in Atlanta, GA. They will be getting married in April of 2022 at Figure 8 Island and are excited to begin their future together back home in Atlanta. Courtney works at Orthopedic Sales – Stryker.
John Gaebe married Reanna Brooks, (former CDS student) on October 29, 2021 at Rolling Hills Farm. John and Reanna are currently living in Charlotte, NC. John works at CSI/Ametek and Reanna works as a high school English teacher and is pursuing her English PhD.

Sarah Airing married Garrett Ford on May 2, 2021, in Gastonia, NC. The couple lives in Charlotte, NC.
Palmer Roberts finished Undergraduate Pilot Training and earned pilot wings at Vance AFB. His next assignment will be flying the C-17 Globemaster III at Joint Base Charleston.
Caroline Stroud married Seth Nelson on October 9, 2021, on Signal Mountain, TN. The couple now lives in Chattanooga, TN. Caroline is a financial analyst for a digital marketing company and graduated from Covenant College with a degree in marketing and finance. Thadd Davis, a former CDS faculty member, officiated the wedding. Three CDS alumni were in the wedding.

Pearce Burrows got engaged to Julia Brown on December 10, 2021. They met sophomore year of college, at a debutante ball, where they were set up as blind date. They are planning to get married in October. They will work and live in Charlotte, NC after the wedding.
Laura Snider married Jack Allen, the two graduates met and started dating at CDS! They were married on June 26, 2021 at Champion Hills Club in Hendersonville, NC. Jack works at Bank of America, and Laura is a graduate student at Wingate University to be a Physician Assistant. They reside in Charlotte, NC.
Jenny Carlton married Jonah White at Moses Cone Park in Blowing Rock, NC. They will be living in Boone, NC.
Stewart Kepper started medical school at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical School in Richmond, VA, the city where he was born! He has found a solid community with growing friendships and walks only six blocks to school. Stewart still credits his fabulous CDS teachers for fostering a love of learning and for challenging him to think biblically.
Abby Olive married Chris Cotton on June 13, 2021 at the Alexander Homestead. They're living in Charlotte, NC where Chris is working as a Civil Engineer at Land Design and Abby is teaching and pursuing her M.A. in English at UNC Charlotte.
Garrett Moseley got engaged to Kienle Valentine in October and the couple is planning to get married on November 12, 2022 in Chapel Hill! Garrett began medical school at Duke University School of Medicine in August and the couple will continue living in Durham while he finishes school.
Jacob Wall got engaged to Elizabeth Jacques on September 25, 2021. They met at Gardner-Webb University while they both were Young Life leaders. They are planning to get married in July 2022 in Greenville, SC. Jacob is currently working as a pediatric therapist in Charlotte.
Seth and Hanson Church, completed a full-length Ironman on October 2, 2021, in Muncie, Indiana. They trained for 8 months.
Drew Weigel got engagement to Anna Bruton in Huntsville, AL. They plan to get married June 2022 and will live in Huntsville after the wedding.
Cami Waters married Jacob Willis, in Charlotte, NC on November 5, 2021, and they now live in Greenville, SC.
Class of 2017
Brooke Akers married Eli Wolf in September in Auburn, AL. They met junior year of college though mutual friends from church. They live in Lafayette, AL about 30 minutes outside of Auburn. Brooke works for All Things Ministries in Auburn.
Maggie Barcley married Brad Assaraf last June in Charlotte, NC. The couple now lives in Annapolis, MD. Maggie and Brad both work at the same classical Christian K-12 school. Maggie is a kindergarten assistant and Brad is a 1st and 2nd grade science teacher.
Jake Glass married Cate McCreight on February 19, 2022, in Sumter, SC and will reside in Charlotte, NC. The couple met at the Clemson library the beginning of their sophomore year. Several of Jake's groomsmen are CDS alumni.
Ellen Goodling married Greg Sporko on October 9, 2021, in the Goodling family backyard in Charlotte, NC. They are currently living happily in Nashville, TN where Ellen teaches theatre at a local high school and Greg works in carpentry.
Danielle Hickman married Alex Gomez in Guadalajara, Mexico where Alex grew up. They now live in Birmingham, AL where Alex is in seminary, and Danielle works as the Latinx community development coordinator for a nonprofit community health center.
Hannah Joye met Sam Fletcher at Clemson through mutual friends and FCA, a campus organization. They got married August 7, 2021, in Charleston, SC where Sam is originally from. The ceremony took place at St. Andrews Church in Mt. Pleasant, and the reception was at Lowndes Grove, the home of Sara Cameron in the Netflix TV series Outer Banks. Their careers landed them back here in Charlotte. Hannah works for Atrium Health as a nurse.
Taylor Jones is engaged to Lennon Withrow. They plan to be married in March of 2022 and will continue to live in Charlotte, NC. They were high school sweethearts. Lennon attended Carmel Christian, but they met at a Covenant Day soccer game at Warner Park (CDS vs Carmel Christian)! Stephanie Perez, a CDS Alumna, took their proposal pictures.
Julius Klohr earned the prestigious award of "All Empire 8 First Team" selection for men’s soccer at Houghton College. Julius led the Highlanders with four goals on the season from his forward position, including two game-winning tallies.
Lexie Lawson graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill and started PA school at Wake Forest School of Medicine in June 2021.

Nathan Sharrett married Katie Cochran on December 18, 2021. The couple lives in Lexington, KY.
William Wallace married Katelyn LaPenna on June 12, 2021. The couple met at Covenant College. They now reside in Greenville, SC.
Class of 2018
Sophie Lindner competed in the Division 1 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in March 2021 and was awarded 2 relay first team All-America titles (7th and 8th) and 2 relay honorable mention All-America titles. She also placed 13th in both the 100 and 200 backstroke, earning individual honorable mention All-America titles.
