Supporting CDS

Since before we opened our doors in 1989, families have generously given their time, talents, prayers, and financial support. God has abundantly blessed the faithful giving of our families over the past decades and we eagerly anticipate all that God has in store for Covenant Day School.

Every gift at Covenant Day School, whether big or small, makes an impact. Each gift is vital for our growth, but even more importantly, each gift gives us the opportunity to bring Glory to God.

We are grateful to our supporters who have made CDS one of their philanthropic priorities and their investment in our mission, our students, and our teachers.

We invite you to contact the Development Office or explore our website to learn more about how you can be a part of the culture of giving at Covenant Day School.

Annual Campaign

Each fall, CDS launches the Annual Campaign, an appeal to the entire CDS community.  Unlike many schools, CDS balances its budget on a yearly basis from tuition revenue.  Therefore, these gifts provide for program enhancements that assist in making the CDS experience exceptional. Annual Campaign gifts are also used to provide tuition assistance for families who demonstrate a financial need. The Annual Campaign’s biggest appeal runs from mid-November through December 31.

Capital CAMPAIGNS

Capital Campaigns secure major gifts to meet the expansion and enhancement needs of our campus. Every CDS family here today has benefited from the support of those who came before them. In the fall of 2016, Covenant Day completed Phase 1 of its Legacy campaign which included a lower school playground, a 2,200 square foot fitness center, and a 56,000 square foot state of the art, high-tech high school facility. Campaigns typically occur once or twice in a decade and pledges are normally fulfilled over a three year period. Future phases, we pray, will include a larger high school gym, a theater/performing arts facility, a lower school addition, an eight-lane track, and additional fan seating.

Endowment Giving

Endowments are permanent funds used to support several areas of Covenant Day. The endowment principal remains intact as the school annually spends a percentage of the interest income for financial aid, awards/programs, continuing education for faculty, and long-term maintenance needs of our facilities. Endowment gifts are a blessing because they take pressure off the Annual Campaign and tuition dollars.

Matching Gifts

Many corporations match their staff’s philanthropic contributions.  These gifts allow you to increase your gift to Covenant Day. After confirming that your employer is a matching gift corporation, obtain and complete a matching gift form and send it with your gift to Covenant Day.  The Development Office will work with your employer to secure the match.

Participation

At Covenant Day School, we aim for 100% participation in our Annual Campaign. Participation is a vote of confidence, a sign that parents and families support the mission and vision of CDS. High participation rates can also have an impact on gifts from outside sources as most foundations consider parent participation before agreeing to donate funds to a school.

Giving Day

Each spring, Covenant Day comes together as a community for 24 hours through Giving Day to increase participation in giving to the Annual Campaign. This community effort raises important funds that benefit all Covenant Day students.
