Game Recap 9/7/2018 vs Providence Day

On Friday, our Middle School Lions played an away game at Providence Day. Some changes in the lineup and offensive strategy enhanced the team's ability to move and cover the floor along with improved passing. Lauren Rogers made her first kill as a middle hitter and also served her first-ever ace! Set scores were 15-25 and 19-25. Coach Hopkins was pleased that the Lions didn't give up, fought hard, and made some clutch plays. She is excited to see where the team goes from here!

Game Recap 9/4/2018 vs Cannon

Our MS-A team was on the road to Cannon School for their game on Tuesday, 9/4. The team struggled to find a rhythm on the court, and dropped two straight sets to the Cougars, 17-25 and 10-25. MaKayla Mabry went on a tremendous 7-point serving run in the first set to keep the score close for the Lions. Her efforts in moving the ball and making plays gave the team some spark. Defensively, Caroline Dunlap hustled and played strong, and Ally Macurda came up big at the net. Coach Hopkins said the team is still working on playing together and making good passes, which will allow the team to utilize its offense more efficiently.

Game Recap 8/30/2018 vs Charlotte Christian

The Middle School Volleyball Lions hosted the team from Charlotte Christian on Thursday, Aug. 30th. Our girls played well together and made some good scoring runs against the Knights. Lila Engstrom provided solid leadership along with veteran players, Ally Macurda and Caroline Dunlap. Lauren Rogers and Grayson Ward made their volleyball debuts and did a great job in their respective positions. Coach Hopkins was encouraged that despite the 0-2 loss, the girls stayed positive and didn't let errors get them down. The team will travel to Cannon School on Tuesday 9/4 for a 4:15 game.
