Game Recap 4/6/2018

Our JV Lions traveled to Charlotte Country Day on Friday, 4/6, for a 5:15 matchup. The Lions played solid team defense throughout the game with great organization and positioning in the back by Susanna Schoeck and Sofia Dahlgren. The team battled with the Bucs to keep the score knotted at halftime, 0-0. Offensive pressure late in the second half from Annalisa Burns and Emily Keefer drew a penalty against the Bucs from a handball just inside the box. Emily Keefer confidently buried the penalty kick to give the Lions a 1-0 lead, and effectively secured the victory for the Lions. Madeline Crumpler got her first start in the goal and hauled in 7 saves for the shutout. The team will be in action again on Thursday, April 12th at Providence Day.

Game Recap: 3/8/2018

The JV Soccer Lions hosted conference opponent, Charlotte Latin, on Thursday under very cold field conditions. The players were tested by the Hawks early on, and the Latin offense gave the Lions a fair amount of trouble. Susanna Schoeck and Kate Rau worked well to keep the defense organized, and Annalisa Burns played well on the wing, creating several scoring chances throughout the game. Tessa Westover played a great second half in the goal, only allowing one goal and making 6 saves. The Lions came up short in the end, and endured a 0-5 loss. The next match for the JV is March 22nd at Charlotte Country Day.
