Game Recap 3/11/2019 vs Providence Day

Our Lions hosted Providence Day for their first game of the season. The JV team played well and possessed the ball for much of the first half, finding a lot of space on the Chargers' left flank which created several opportunities in the box. Midway through the first half Sadie Shannon got on the end of a ball crossed into the box by Kate Rau, and finished to the back post to put the Lions on top heading into the halftime break.

Early in the second half, Providence Day picked up a PK goal after Liv Coggins fouled their striker just inside the corner of the 18. Anna Barnes earned a PK for the Lions a few minutes later, but CDS failed to convert it. Both teams had opportunities in the second half, but the game finished in a 1-1 tie.
