NCISAA 4-A State Championship 2/11/2019
The Lions took to the pool in Greensboro on Feb. 11th to finish the season with some very fast races. Many of our swimmers posted personal best times, and a school record was broken (200 Free Relay – Harding/ McKissick/ Schoeck/ Brantley) The relay team beat last year's record by more than 2 seconds! Great job girls!
Everyone who participated gave their best and left it all in the water. Coach Orsillo and Coach Bradshaw couldn’t be prouder of the Lions!
Our Varsity Swim Lions capped off their regular season with a fifth place finish for both the boys and girls teams. In total, the team posted 22 personal season fastest swims, with several between 1-2 seconds faster, one state-cut time added – and a 16 second time drop by Kathryn Harding in the 500 free!
Overall the team had seven top-10 finishes: four top- 5 finishes – two 4th place – four 3rd place – and one 2nd place finish. This is so impressive for 14 swimmers! Congratulations to Lawson Brantley for finishing in 1st place in the 100 Backstroke to take All-Conference honors!
The following swimmers will be representing CDS at the NCISAA State Meet in Greensboro on February 11, 2019: Ben Bednar, Lawson Brantley, Kathryn Harding, Brayden Lauletta, Lilly McKissick, Carter Nelson, Susanna Schoeck, and Cole Walton. Swim fast, Lions!
