Our JV Lions beat the Greensboro Day Bengals in two straight sets to bring home their first victory of the season. After working out some first-game jitters, our girls took control and dominated the court to win the first set, 25-14. After leading throughout the second set, the Bengals made a run and took a two-point lead at 20-22. The Lions rallied and displayed great mental toughness to work their way to a 25-23 win to close out the second set and the match. Kenara Hartwell led the team with 4 kills, while Isabella Thomas added 7 service points for the Lions. Adri Rossi and Hannah Keefer were tops in defensive digs, and Thomas, Keefer and Caroline Dunlap rounded out the Lions efforts with 4 quality passes each in the win. Next up for the JV Lions is a home match against Legion Collegiate Academy on August 29th.
