Mike Hawks | Head Coach
Coach Hawks's playing career began at Myers Park High School, where he was a two-year starter on the offensive line and an All-Mecklenburg and All-State selection. He then proceeded to Lenior-Rhyne, where he lettered four years and started three.
He began his coaching career in Pennsylvania at Germantown Academy as an offensive line coach and offensive coordinator. From there, he had stints at Charlotte Latin School, Providence Day School, Westminster Catawba Christian, Myers Park, Butler, and the Carolina Pride. He served as both head coach and offensive and defensive coordinator during that time. He coached in the private school Shrine Bowl as Defensive coordinator in 2007 and 2010. He coached the offensive line in the Army All-American Bowl (2018) and the Carolina Bowl (2022). He was the Defensive Coordinator for the Charlotte Latin squad that won four state championships.
He brings a wealth of experience to our school and is excited about the prospects of building the Covenant Day football program into a championship-caliber program.
He is married to Tammy (41 years) and has two children, Carolyn and Benjamin, both of whom are Covenant Day graduates. He has three grandchildren: Kate, Walter, and Harper.
