Jason deBuhr Named Head Coach of CDS Varsity Boys Golf

Jason deBuhr has been named the new Head Coach of the Covenant Day Varsity Boys Golf program.

deBuhr returns this season to coach at CDS after previously coaching CDS Middle School Boys Basketball in 2005-06 and CDS Varsity Boys Golf in 2006 & 2007.

"We are elated to bring Jason deBuhr back to CDS as the leader of our Boys Golf program," said CDS Athletic Director Blake Van Der Schaaf. "Jason brings a wealth of golf knowledge to Covenant Day. He will serve as a wonderful mentor and coach for the young men in our golf program."

Jason was a member of the University of Kansas Golf team from 1996-2001. Following graduation, he joined the Tarheel Tour, a development tour designed to be a stepping stone for professional players trying to ascend to higher-level tours from 2003 to 2005. Jason is no stranger to winning. He was a member of the 1999 Big 12 Men's Golf Championship team. At CDS, he was the head coach when CDS Golf won the State Championship in 2006 and John Varol's individual Golf Championship title in 2007.

“Competitive golf is a tremendous classroom for life and faith, and I’m grateful and excited to have the opportunity to engage with these young men in this environment,” said Coach deBuhr.

A native of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Jason has a degree in secondary education from the University of Kansas and an MBA from Queens University of Charlotte. He has been married for 21 years to Lindsey deBuhr, whom he met while in college at the University of Kansas. They have three children at CDS: Gabe '27, Maggie '28, and Jack '32.
