14 Student-Athletes Selected for All-Conference

The Charlotte Independent School Athletic Association (CISAA) selected 14 Covenant Day student-athletes for All-Conference following the CISAA competition during the 2023 fall sports season. These selections included students competing in boys' and girls' cross country, field hockey, boys' soccer, girls' golf, volleyball, and cheerleading. Athletes Colden Welsh (cross country), Emily Eaton (field hockey), and Will Goodling (soccer) were each named CISAA Player of the Year in their sports. 

Athletics Director Blake Van Der Schaaf summed up the 2023 fall season in a letter to the CDS athletics community. "We have an amazing group of competitors and a great community supporting them," he wrote. Van Der Schaaf also outlined goals for the athletics department as the school transitioned to winter sports. "We want to honor God, develop a whole program, and compete at a high level," he shared. "As an athletics department, we are committed to putting God at the center and building outward. We want people to see Christ in us as we compete."
