Admissions Experience

We offer informational calls and personal campus visits to allow you to learn more about us and to see what makes Covenant Day unique. We would love to show you our facilities and meet you face to face! To connect with us, schedule a 15-minute informational call with the Admissions Office or arrange a personal campus visit. 

Submit an online application with a non-refundable application fee of $100. Students should be four years old by March 1, 2026 to apply for JK. Students should be five years old by June 1, 2026 to apply for kindergarten. The Admissions Office considers a child's birthday and an individual assessment of developmental readiness when determining placement in JK or kindergarten. 

A standardized admissions screening is one tool used to determine the best placement for each student. These tests need to be scheduled in advance by the parent. 

• Grades JK-1 applicants take the Weschler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (WPPSi). This assessment for younger children is administered by a qualified psychologist.* 
• Grades 2-4 applicants take the Weschler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC V). This assessment for elementary-age children is administered by a qualified psychologist.* 
• Grades 5-11 applicants take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE). This standardized assessment is administered to students in upper grades and measures verbal and quantitative ability, mathematics skills, reading comprehension, and writing skills. Please refer to the ISEE website for details and registration. All Middle and High School testing needs to be completed and submitted by February 27, 2026.

*These tests need to be scheduled directly with the psychologist. Please refer to the CAIS brochure for all details and a list of psychologists. 

To learn more about each student's unique strengths, interests, and challenges, we ask for a recommendation from the following people: 

• Preschool teacher recommendation (JK/K)
• Lower school teacher recommendation (grades 1-5)
• Math teacher recommendation (grades 6-11)
• English teacher recommendation (grades 6-11)
• Principal/school counselor recommendation (grades 6-11)
• Pastor’s recommendation (grades JK-11)

Teachers, principals, and pastors may complete recommendation forms online. Please provide an accurate email address in the application so that we may send the forms. To request that transcripts be sent to Covenant Day School, please provide the registrar’s email address at your child’s current school in the application. By entering the registrar's email you are hereby granting permission for a complete transcript showing all former and current grades, IQ and Achievement Test scores, psychological evaluations (if any), behavior records, attendance records, health records, and other pertinent information from the student’s permanent record to be released to Covenant Day School's Admissions Office.

The Admissions Office will provide a link to schedule your parent interview with the Admissions Director. An essential component for admission is the requirement that one or both parents be professing Christians as evidenced by their confession of faith in Jesus Christ alone as Savior. As such, the interview will be conducted to verify a Christian testimony from one or both parents and ascertain agreement with the school’s statement of faith. We also want to get to know your student! Therefore, every applicant will schedule a time to join us on campus. The Admissions Office will provide a link to schedule your school shadow day.

• JK/K applicants will participate in our Little Lions Assessment with a small group of JK/K friends.
• Grades 1-5 applicants will work one-on-one with an academic resource therapist to measure their reading, math, and writing proficiency.
• Grade 6 applicants will spend a morning shadowing a 6th-grade student, enjoy lunch with the middle school, meet with an admissions staff member, and take a math and English assessment.
• Grade 7-11 applicants will spend a morning shadowing a student in the middle or high school, enjoy lunch with their peers, and meet with an admissions staff member.

We maintain rolling admissions. After priority admission decisions have been communicated, applications are processed and decisions are provided as space is available.
