In addition to competitive compensation and benefits with other independent schools, the school provides licensure benefits to full-time faculty. Covenant Day School is approved by the state of North Carolina as an Initial Licensure Program school. This enables CDS to guide teachers who have Standard Professional I NC state licensure to earn their Professional Standard Professional II NC state licenses. This process provides mentoring, evaluation, and guidance. Once a teacher obtains a Standard Professional II NC teaching license, the license is renewable every five years. Teachers coming from out of state may be able to get Standard Professional I licenses based on reciprocity OR might qualify for a continuing license if they have taught for three or more years in a public school out of state.
