A TK-12 Christ-centered,
College Preparatory School

Admissions Process

Our admissions process is designed to help you learn more about us as you discover if Covenant Day School is the right fit for your family. It is our pleasure to work with families as they begin the admissions process and our desire is to make it a hassle-free experience for you.

Admissions Steps

Visit CDS

We would love to show you around our campus! While we are limiting visitors to campus, we are offering virtual visits for families who are investigating Covenant Day.  If you choose to submit an admissions application, you have the opportunity to schedule a private in-person tour on our campus.  Contact the Admissions Office at 704-847-2385 to schedule a virtual visit or schedule it here.

Submit an Application

Submit an online application with a non-refundable application fee ($100 for TK/K and $150 for grades 1-12).

Students must be 5 by August 15 to apply for Kindergarten and October 15 to apply for Transitional Kindergarten.  The Admissions office will determine TK or K placement based on the individual assessment of each child’s developmental readiness.

Complete Admissions Screening

The Admissions Office will arrange and pay for individual admissions testing for TK-12. Testing typically begins in December preceding enrollment in August. The Admissions Office and/or our testing agency, ABC Educational Services, will contact each family to arrange for testing and to confirm test dates.

Recommendations

In order to learn more about the unique strengths, interests, and challenges of each student, we would like to hear from current teachers, principals, and your pastor. Teachers, principals, and pastors may complete recommendation forms online. Please provide an accurate email address in the application so that we may send the online forms to them.

  • Preschool teacher recommendation (TK/K)
  • Lower school teacher recommendation (grades 1-5)
  • Math teacher recommendation (grades 6-12)
  • English teacher recommendation (grades 6-12)
  • Principal/school counselor recommendation (grades 6-12)
  • Pastor’s recommendation (grades TK-12)

Send us your Transcripts/student records

Please have your current school send an official transcript or copy of student records using this form. (The Transcript Release Form may also be downloaded and printed from the application, as well as from the link below.)

Family Interview

Covenant Day School will call your family to schedule an interview with the Admissions Director. For prospective students in grades 6-12, the student will also be included in the interview. An essential component for admission is the requirement that one or both parents be professing Christians as evidenced by their confession of faith in Jesus Christ alone as Savior. As such, the interview will be conducted to verify a Christian testimony from one or both parents and ascertain agreement with the school’s statement of faith.

Admissions Decision

First round admissions decisions will be emailed on February 26, 2021, for TK/K and on March 26, 2021, for grades 1-12.
