Covenant Day School’s summer Cheerleading Camp will be July 23-26 from 9:00 a.m. to noon. The camp is open to all children grades TK-8. Space is limited, so register early! For more information and to complete the registration form, click here!
The Lower School would like to have a few parent volunteers to supplement our enrichment classes for our 4th and 5th grade students for the fourth quarter. If you would be interested in leading a class (normally about 10-14 students), please email Mr. Helmer. In addition to what our teachers will offer, possible enrichment offerings from parents could include: a book club, a physical activity option, model rocketry, and more. We will meet on the following Wednesdays in the fourth quarter from approximately 1:40 – 2:30 p.m.: March 28; April 11, 18, 25; and May 2, 9, 16, 23 (eight weeks total).

The Lower School Father/Daughter Dance will take place on Saturday, March 3 in the Middle School Gym from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. This will be a special evening for all lower school girls and their dads (or grandfathers, uncles, big brothers) to dance and enjoy a special date night. Mr. Welty will be spinning a variety of tunes, while our favorite High School girls come and lead everyone in the latest dances. There will be cupcakes, punch, and plenty of water! Save the date for Covenant Day School’s 1st Annual Lions Cup Tennis Tournament! The tournament will take place on Monday, April 23 at Providence Country Club. Choose your partner! Online registration will begin March 1. The cost is $50.00 per player. Space is limited. If you have any questions, please email Tricia Norris.

Reminders
The Lower School Box Tops Contest will run from Monday, February 6 to Friday, March 2! The grade that collects the most box tops will win extra recess time with an ice cream snack. Don’t forget to check the expiration dates as expired box tops cannot be counted.
Covenant Day School is now accepting applications for the 2012-2013 school year for all grades. Click here to download an application. Please contact the Admissions Office at 704-847-2385 with any questions.
The CDS faculty is pleased to announce the opening of the application period for the seventh annual “CDS Faculty Scholarship”.
Designated for a CDS graduating senior*, this $1,000 scholarship will be awarded by a faculty committee to the applicant who best exhibits the following qualities:
- A biblical worldview
- A servant’s heart, acting as “salt and light” in a dying world
- Academic excellence (minimum 3.0 GPA; candidates with a GPA below 3.0 will be considered on a case-by-case basis)
The application deadline is March 15, 2012. The application form is available in the Class of 2012 folder on E-Backpack. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Linda Harling, French teacher (HS room 202).
