Athletic Booster Club

Dear CDS Family Members,
I hope this letter finds you well and looking forward to a new school year. Each year at this same time I have written and highlighted the many athletic achievements of our student athletes at CDS, as well as the accomplishments of the Booster Club. Given the place that we find ourselves, as a CDS family, this year I feel compelled to communicate a different message. Make no mistake, our student and school accomplishments were many this year and we will highlight these at another time.
I would like to appeal to each of you that now is the time in the life and growth of CDS that your commitment is needed more than ever! The school has committed to embark on the “Field of Dreams” project. This project will include a major enhancement of the existing facilities at Warner Park, including a new varsity baseball field, soccer practice fields and a track around the soccer field; leading eventually to a stadium, hopefully by 2015. The Booster Club has committed $200,000 and has already given $100,000 to kick start the project. We will give the other $100,000 over the next two years. We need your help to make this project a reality!
Booster Club Memberships:
Attached is a membership form that displays the different levels of membership and a CDS Branded item gift and free concession dollars. You can also join with a higher level of giving if you feel led. We are also allowing for the option to buy a membership for some other family if you wish. To join the Booster Club this year, please complete the attached form and return it to one of the school offices. Shortly afterwards you will be sent your membership package including a membership card for each family member. The membership cards need to be presented at the gate for free admission, so we are providing one for each family member. This year’s levels are as follows:
$100 – Booster Level; includes free entrance to all home games, key tags for family, CDS stickers for car.
$250 – Coaches Level; includes all of the above plus – free entrance to conference games and CDS branded golf umbrella.
$500 – Athletic Director Level; includes all of the above plus – you can designate all money over $250 to the (one) sport of your choice. A really cool CDS Day Timer with school calendar & fall
sports schedules included (plus important school contact numbers) AND $50 of Booster Club Bucks!!
$1,000 – Headmaster Level; includes all of the above plus $100 of Booster Club Bucks AND special seating at games…….the best seats in the house!
Field of Dreams:
In order for CDS to continue to grow and evolve at the 3A level we must make the “Field of Dreams” project a reality. This will take courage and faith in an uncertain economy. I would like to encourage you in joining me and the many other boosters in stepping up and contributing your treasures, your time and your talents to be a part of the creation of something special! Our ability to provide a first class athletic facility and environment for our student athletes will match the already existing first class Christian education and will augment and enhance our student’s Christian growth and development as they learn more about commitment, hard work, sacrifice, respect, discipline, teamwork, honor and courage. You can already see the spirit building at our school. From the Friday night barbecues to the advent of the Covenant Crazies. Were you there at the moment our Varsity Baseball team beat Charlotte Latin with a walk-off homerun in the last inning, two outs, two strikes? Remember how you felt? Can you imagine how the players felt! They will be talking about that game and that play with their own kids one day. We can help create more moments like these for our kids; young men and women. But we cannot do it without the facilities to make it happen. As we grow we can open the door of opportunity for more students to participate by offering a wider array of sports which will attract more families to CDS.
It starts with you! When you think about the other private schools in the area that we will compete against, there were those people that at some point in time had to make a leap of faith, stand up and commit to make it happen. It didn’t just appear, ready for all those interested to join in. They created it. It took sacrifice and commitment. Are you in? Join me! Commitments start at $5,000. Act boldly. I will even throw in a booster club family membership at the Headmaster level! Make the Field of Dreams a reality.
